Trinity Community Church is strongly committed to evangelism and discipleship. As with all our ministries, evangelism is tied to the overall purpose of our church: “As a local body of Christ’s church, Trinity Community Church seeks to be a serving, disciple making community through the involvement of its people in worship, instruction, fellowship and evangelism.”

KEY VERSES

Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)
18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Acts 2:42-47 (NIV)
42They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. 44All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. 46Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Church planting is the most effective means of Evangelism today. Trinity once was a church plant and is committed to planting more churches in the area in the future. Church planting allows the church to grow with the community, and provides ample opportunity for all attendees to become active members and develop leadership skills.

Throughout His life, Jesus grew more focused on discipling smaller and smaller groups. Our focus is on making disciples who are able to go into their areas of influence in the world and be Jesus’ hands and feet. We believe an equally valid interpretation of Matthew 28:19 above is: “As you are going...making disciples”. This captures the essence of our purpose. Not that evangelism is a separate activity, but an active part of our daily lives. Our goal is to train God's people to always be prepared to share His good news. Just as you would expect anyone to speak with excitement and insight into their favorite team or activity, we hope that those involved with our church would be confident and educated to share the greatest story ever told. To this end, Trinity has many opportunities for sharing our faith out of season, so that when the opportunities do arrive we are ready.
